INGREDIENTS
For Rice Kheer
- Milk - 2 liters full fat
- Rice - 150 grams (1/2 Cup)
- Sugar - 200 grams (according to taste)
- Cashew almond shavings -4-5 teaspoon
- Raisins - 2 teaspoon
- Chironji - 1/2 teaspoon
- Saffron - 15-20 strands soaked in milk
- Yellow Food Color (if not using saffron strands)
- Rose water - 2-3 tsp
INSTRUCTIONS:
For making Rice Kheer
- Take milk in a vessel and keep it on the gas to boil. We have to keep stirring the milk continuously till the milk comes to a boil.
- Wash the rice thoroughly an hour before using it for making Kheer.
- After boiling the milk, add soaked rice to it and keep stirring it continuously till it comes to a boil. After that you stir it every once in a while so that the kheer does not stick to the bottom. The taste of kheer can be spoiled if it sticks to the bottom.
- At the time of boiling the kheer, we will also add milk containing chironji and saffron to it and keep stirring it.
- Our kheer is slowly starting to boil and is thickening. The kheer is cooked well. Now we will put sugar in it and let the sugar dissolve well.
- After this, add 2-3 spoons of rose water to the kheer, and cook it for some more time.
- There you have it. Your creamy and aromatic rice kheer is ready. You can eat it cold or hot as you like. Cold kheer also tastes delicious.
